Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does Centurian differ from a standard scaffolding firm?
Think of us as your quality gatekeeper. Instead of you calling around and hoping for a reliable firm, we use our 30 years of experience to do it for you. We have over 30 verified, security-checked firms on our books. We match your specific job to the best-suited crew, oversee the quality, and guarantee the lowest price.
2. How do I know the scaffolders on my property are safe?
Every firm in the Centurian network has been personally vetted by me. They are all CISRS-qualified, fully insured, and work to the latest TG20:21 safety standards. I’ve been in this trade since I was 16—I know who does "shit jobs" and I don't let them near my clients.
3. Which areas do you cover?
We are based on the Wirral and cover the entire peninsula (Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall, etc.). We also serve the whole of Merseyside, Liverpool, Chester, Ellesmere Port, and surrounding areas. If you’re in the North West, we’ve got you covered.
4. Do I need a permit for my scaffolding?
If the scaffolding is staying within the boundary of your private property (like your driveway or garden), you usually don't need a permit. However, if it needs to go on a public pavement or road, a Local Authority Permit is required. We handle all the paperwork and applications for you to ensure everything is legal.
5. How long is the standard hire period?
Most of our quotes include a standard hire period of 4 weeks, but we are flexible. If your project is running over, just let us know. We offer competitive weekly rates for extended hire, and because we have 30+ firms, we can usually accommodate timeline changes easily.
6. Can you handle large commercial projects?
Absolutely. While we do plenty of domestic work (chimneys, extensions, etc.), our network includes firms that specialize in heavy-duty commercial and industrial scaffolding. No job is too big or too small for our vetting process.
7. How quickly can you get a scaffold up?
Because we have a network of over 30 firms, we have much better availability than a single company. In many cases, we can have a verified crew on-site within 24–48 hours of your inquiry.
